Tips For Buying a New AC System

Technician installing new AC unit

Buying a new AC system for your Buckeye or Goodyear home is a big purchase, and we want to make sure you are well-informed before you decide. It’s important to have a reliable unit that will keep your home cool during the hot Arizona summers and run efficiently for many years! Here are some important factors to keep in mind when purchasing your new unit.

Unit Size

Your unit should be large enough to cool your whole home, but not too big. If a unit is too large for a home it will use too much energy cycling through and turn on and off frequently. Also, if your unit is too small, it will not properly cool your whole home, will wear down your system, and raise your energy bills as it will be constantly running. Our team of professional technicians will help determine the right size unit for your home, and can advise if you need more than one AC unit to cool your home properly. Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is measured by the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating, or SEER. The higher the SEER number of your system, the more energy efficient. The government requires all new systems be 14 SEER or higher, but you can purchase units with up to a SEER of 25. If your unit is more than ten years old, a 14 SEER system will be about 40 percent more energy efficient – which will save you money on your monthly energy bills in the long run. If you’re wondering if you should replace your system or just repair it, check out our blog post for more information.

A nice guy came out and and fixed my thermostat, which unfortunately I paid a handyman to install. Nothing was wrong with my heater, he did advise I need a coil tune up real soon.
