Keep Your Garage Cool in Phoenix, AZ

Keep Your Garage Cool - Inside of garage with car

Living in the hot Phoenix, Arizona climate, it is difficult to keep your garage cool during the summer months. Many people use their garages as an exercise space, a workshop, place for their pet, or area to tackle a new summer project, but the intense heat prevents them from fully utilizing this space.  Here are some helpful tips for keeping your garage cool during the summer!

Keep the Garage Door Cracked Open

In order to circulate hot air out of your garage, it can help to keep the garage door slightly cracked open and not fully closed down. With the help of a fan in your garage, this can be a short-term solution to help cool off your space. However, this is not a long-term solution as you will not want to keep your garage door slightly open when you are away from home.

Update Your Garage Door

Many old garage doors are not properly insulated, allowing heat to come in easily. Upgrading to a sturdier garage door with insulation will help prevent the heat from entering your garage as quickly and can help keep it stay cooler longer. In addition, painting your garage door a light color so it does not absorb heat will also help to keep it cool.

Install a Ductless Mini Split System

It is not legal to connect your home’s air conditioner or install duct work into your garage, so installing a ductless mini-split AC system is a great option to cool your garage. Ductless mini split systems do not take up much wall space and can be easily installed in your garage. Plus, ductless mini split systems are more energy efficient as they are only cooling one space and you can set them to only run exactly when you want.

Our team of AC experts can come out to assess your garage and provide you a free estimate for installing a new ductless mini split system! We’re proud to have been providing our community with award-winning service for more than 15 years.

A nice guy came out and and fixed my thermostat, which unfortunately I paid a handyman to install. Nothing was wrong with my heater, he did advise I need a coil tune up real soon.
